Amcrest’s track record.

Nothing on record. That isn’t a clean bill yet: it takes a proper look through the vendor’s changelog, and that hasn’t been done for Amcrest. No documented firmware removal of RTSP, ONVIF or the HTTP API found. Forum reports of ONVIF authentication breaking after updates exist, but none opened here establishes a deliberate removal, and no source establishes continuous availability either.

In plain words.

A plain PoE camera in the Dahua mould: you set it up from its web page with its own admin password, it records to its microSD card, a NAS or an NVR, and ONVIF/RTSP plus a published HTTP API do the rest. Amcrest Cloud and the phone app's P2P relay are optional and the P2P switch can be turned off. Amcrest sells this camera in two revisions (the original -28MM and the current -AI-V3); the vendor documents cited above span both.
